Welcome to the Counselling & Psychotherapy website of Catherine Perry.

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist who is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP - www.bacp.co.uk). My premises are located in Harley Street W1 Central London.

If you are looking for a professional counsellor or psychotherapist in Central London then please take your time to look through my site.

Both day and evening appointments are available - please do contact me for further details.

In addition to my private practice, situated in Harley Street W1 Central London, I have also worked in an NHS Counselling and Psychotherapy department based in the community. It is at these premises where I both assess clients and see people for longer term individual psychodynamic work. I also see clients in a hospital psychotherapy department for cognitive analytical therapy (CAT) and work with clients who access counselling through their company's employment assistance programmes (EAP's) using Solution Focused Brief Therapy (BSFT).

If you are unsure about the different kinds of therapy and what would best suit your needs then this is something we could discuss at our first meeting. My main approach, as a professional psychotherapist, is psychodynamic. This approach enables people to understand their current difficulties in the context of both current and past experiences. Becoming aware of unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour is the first step towards change.

I work face to face with individuals both on a short and long term basis. Short term can mean anything from six to twelve sessions, longer term may mean up to a year or a few years. How long therapy lasts depends on the issues you wish to address and the way you and the counselor decide to work. The length of therapy can be decided together and if need be reviewed during therapy.
